Kaohsiung Nov. 9 2017: The 2017 Taiwan International Fisheries Seafood Show, kicks off today, with the event taking place Nov. 9-11, at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center (KEC). The fishery industry's annual event is now in its third year. As an imperative commercial platform for the industry and a driving force for upgrade, the Show brings together the upper, middle and lower streams of the industry, alongside representatives from industry, government, academia and research institutions. 185 exhibitors using 354 booths at the Show, which includes 21 major fishery nations worldwide. In addition to pavilions from nearby Japan, South Korea and Indonesia, there is the South Pacific National Pavilion consisting of archipelagic states, including Marshall Islands, Tuvalu Islands, Solomon Islands and Republic of Kiribati, which possess bountiful ocean resources; while exhibitors from Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and India are showcasing products in the New Southbound National Pavilion. Ecuador and Canada are also on the list of exhibitors. The Show is expected to attract 7,000 local and foreign professionals.
